Or is the Ph.D. the only doctoral degrees with a fully funded package?

To my understanding, as long as the Ed.D. program includes doctoral-level research (and I have yet to hear of one that did not) it will have the same funding prospects as a Ph.D. in the same field. That having been said, I am not personally familiar with the over-all funding prospects in education… Still, I would not sweat the name.

I’m not sure, but there is usually a 1-2 course difference between the Ph.D. and Ed.D. Based on my research, it didn’t seem like there was this huge difference in the actual degree or requirements, so the Ed.D might be fully funded.

Also, the Ed.D is typically seen a “professional” Phd. It’s meant for people who want to be principals and the like. So, in that sense, it may not be fully funded.

Hey, flexfit. I sent to a pm about one of your threads a while back. Mind responding? I’m looking to go into the education field too.

IT depends. Some schools will fund them and others will not. At some schools there is no real functional difference between the Ed.D and the PhD whereas at other schools, there is. IT all depends on the school.
