<p>Hi I am an international student. I heard from the grad school of edu at Harvard days ago about their admission decision. But I am wondering about the degree they can give. Everyone there telling me that they can give EdD only, and their EdD is equivalence to PhD elsewhere. However, I still doubt about the difference between the two in other people's perception.
Can someone provide me some info about that?

I think the problem is I am not quite an education-oriented person, my background is in psychology, and I want study into the cross field of developmental & educational psych... I know that HGSE is kind of best in education policy etc, but don't know about its reputation in the field i am interested in...
and, in grad school, is the Big Name of the Univ that important? If I wanna a research life after that....
just puzzled with choices....
