Are interim grades necessary for Princeton's SCEA applicants?

I’m applying early to Princeton and on their website I couldn’t be able to find whether my mid-term grades are required or not. My high school has semester system and therefore I don’t have a first quarter/trimester grade report. I’ll have my semester report in January.

The two most relevant info on the undergraduate admission website are:

Application Checklist:
“Mid-year School Report. Please ask your guidance counselor or other school official to complete and submit this form when your mid-year grades are available. The form may be found on the Coalition Application, Common Application and Universal College Application websites.”

FAQs:
“If I am applying early, do I need to submit first quarter and trimester grades from my senior year in high school?
Yes, if possible, please ask your college counselor to submit any senior grades if your high school has them available.”

What do you think? Do the early applicants send any kind of interim grades to Princeton?

Refer to the FAQ that you quoted (emphasis mine):

You can’t send what you don’t have.If the HS does not issue a Q1 report, then you can’t send. That said, there is nothing preventing the AO form calling the GC and asking for an informal update.
