Are McGraw Hill Ten ACT Practice Tests that bad?

I've taken 4 of the 10 practice tests from this book so far, and I have been scoring worse than usual. I usually miss 6-8 questions in both English and Science. The reading and math, however, seem easier than usual. My only concern is if the questions overall from this book are actually accurate. What concerns me is that most people on this forum from what I have read find McGraw Hill tests easier than the real thing.

To put things into perspective, I've scored 34-36 on the 5 Real ACT Tests.

For those who have had experience with this book, what are your opinions about these McGraw Hill tests? Are they accurate? Should I be concerned?

I took 4 of the practice tests in this book and then got a 32 on the real thing this past March. I think it’s an effective book.

Hmm, ok. Does anyone else have opinions of this book? I feel like the scoring from this book is off…

The Science and Reading tests are far too easy in my opinion…
I only used it for the English actually ^^’

I definitely agree Reading is too easy, but wow, Science and English kill me in these tests. I’m not even sure if I agree with the rhetoric questions on the English passages.

I consistently scored 27’s in english sections from this book and i scored a 34 in the actual english section on the act. I would say that though it may be helpful to some people, it doesn’t actually reflect the material on an actual act test. The math sections, again, may be helpful to some for practicing, but they really don’t reflect an actual act.For example, one of the practice tests may focus simply on algebra while mainly disregarding coordinate geometry. As for the reading sections, the passages are 1/3 shorter than they would be on a real test. I find that science is the most accurate. Also, the grading system is completely off. Seriously, don’t go by it at all.

Thanks, shirley. That gave me some reassurance.
