Are my ECs good enough??

Here my current ECs

-NHS
-Tri-M
-200+ volunteer hours (Best Buddies, Local Youth Council, Public Library)
-Silver Service volunteer service award
-Fundraising chair of said Local Youth Council
-Started school newspaper site (I did this on my own without school affiliation)
-Treasurer of Class Council
-Stage Crew Drama Club for 9th and 10th grade and Lead Role in 11th
-Choir for 4 years
-Choir internship junior year teaching elementary school children
-President of SAVE club (environmental club)
-Playing Guitar and Piano for 3+ years

I thought my ECs were decent until I saw that my list is a lot shorter than most.

While we’re at it, my SAT score is 2240 and my unweighted GPA is a 3.8 (with mostly honors)

I was thinking NYU, USC, UCLA, to be my -hopefully not too high of a- reach schools
Georgia Tech, UMD, Purdue, Ohio State, and BU as being safe at my level
and Rutgers and Penn State to be safety schools

My intended major being Computer Science

Help a girl out.

Quality over quantity.

You’re fine.

Your stats and ECs are good enough for any of those schools. UCLA is the hard one for most people but you have a shot

Kudos for pursuing computer science, except…for the disconnect between your intended major and your activities and achievements all these years. Have you really done nothing related in your ECs? Are you sure that’s what you want to study? I would recommend taking some career aptitude tests to see what career is suitable for you, unless of course you aced AP Computer Science or otherwise know you’re a match for this, and it just isn’t in that list. I would recommend coming up with a related EC to put on your college application as well.

My daughter considered majoring in Computer Science, although she has chosen a different science field that she was also accomplished in. But here were her ECs and achievements related to Comp Sci: founder of Computer Science Club, runner up in national computer science competition and winner at state level, 5 on AP Computer Science exam (covers Java), completion of programming courses in Python, worked with Raspberry Pi, competed in mathematical modeling, robotics club, etc. etc. I’m only trying to give you an idea of your competition out there. I personally think that your SAT score and grades alone will get you in the door at most places, but even once you’re in the door, this is what your classmates could be like in college. Be prepared. And do be open-minded to considering other majors. You have some strong skills in the performing arts and leadership. The best major and career path for a person is often the path they have already been on – because that is reflective of their true interests and abilities.

its not always the best idea to have alot of ECs you can only list 10 on the common app anyways. its good that you have ECs that you enjoy and have been doing it for a long time( shows dedication). Some of your reach schools might be matches if you are in-state. I think if u want u can even add in some top tier schools as high reaches.
