Taking pre-calculus as a sophomore suggests that you are ahead of schedule in math. Have you done well in math up to now? Do you feel fully prepared to do well in pre-calculus?

Are there any prerequisites for sports medicine? I am not familiar with this as a high school class. One friend of a daughter’s majored in this in university and as far as I know is doing well having graduated a few years ago.

Otherwise my main question would be whether these classes are a good fit for you. Do you feel good about the classes that you have signed up for?

If you take the classes that are a good fit for you, then you are likely to do well in them. This will help you find a good university that is a good fit for you. There are a large number of very good universities. Finding one that fits you and that fits your budget is important.

Yes, I have done well in math and my Algebra 2 teacher right now has said that is a good choice for me. There are no pre-requisites for sports medicine, it is just a single elective class. I chose it because I wanted to go through the Pre-Med and it is one of the only coursed my high school has related to it. I do feel comfortable with these classes and I do think they fit me well with my current position.

This is about MIT in particular, but it applies to any highly selective college.

Remember that for ‘pre-med’ you can study any subjects- it’s just a group of classes you have to take. The keys for med school will be 1) GPA (both overall and in the pre-req classes); 2) MCAT; and 3) the competencies: What Medical Schools are Looking for: Understanding the 15 Core Competencies | Students & Residents

Whether you go to MIT or your state university won’t matter for med school admissions- but remember to factor in budget for both: avoid all debt for undergrad!!

There is nothing obviously wrong, since you have:

  • a history course
  • an English course
  • a math course (honors, +2 track)
  • a science course (honors)
  • foreign language (level 2)
  • art
  • elective

Of course, that needs to be considered in context with what your school offers and the usual ordering of courses, as well as your goals.

Do you plan to continue on to the usual following courses in each subject in later years?

Thank you for your feedback, and yes I do plan to continue most of the following courses except the art most likely.

Thank You for this information!

lol I forgot the link!
