Are political science and sociology any use out there?

I’m a high school student considering majoring in political science or sociology. Should I double major or minor in one of them and major in the other? Is the job prospect in these fields even that great? Will it be of use? Give me advice please!!

Major in poli sci and minor in applied math. That’s a powerful combo. Voting trends, census data, large data sets-- the ability to combine big data and any social science is very marketable.

Major in sociology and minor in econ- that’s a winning combo. Why do certain segments of society lag behind in employment, earn less over their lifetime? Why does labor participation among certain college graduates take a bigger hit during a recession than others?

Major in psychology (you didn’t ask but I’m suggesting it) and minor in econ.

No need to double major in poli sci and sociology, that doesn’t give you any point of differentiation out there in the labor markets…

I suggest you take a look at this link. It shows college earnings by major.

Thank you! I might actually consider the psych thing because I did well in AP psych. If i’m not the best at math should I still do a math minor because it’ll be helpful?
