I'm currently in HS and I'm considering a double major in Sociology and Political Science (possibly with a focus on International Relations). My goal is to work at a nonprofit organization so that I can work towards some noble cause :) (not sure what cause yet). I'm also very interested in both subjects so my question is more a matter of will these two majors be useful for the career I am seeking. Thanks in advance for the help!

I think it’s a great idea! they can work hand in hand to help you achieve your goal!

I think they are fine. You will want to choose a college where you have little or no debt upon graduation, though.

Thank you so much! im worried about the pay now though

You might find this useful. I think more high school and college students should review this before picking their majors:

If you are unsure about your major, another good source is the Book of Majors published by College Board. One of my kids wasn’t very clear about this junior year of high school, and we at least wanted to make sure the majors that sounded interesting were offered at the colleges she applied to even if she didn’t end up selecting one until later. You can read about the majors and the type of jobs they typically lead to. She went through with yellow and green post-its, and marked the majors that sounded “kind of” (yellow) interesting and “very” (green) interesting. Some definite patterns emerged, and it did help refine her college search.

Awesome! Thank you so much for your help!
