my d's bf is fussing that he hasn't received any mail except from her and his family - so we found a bunch of postcards of our city skyline - she is going to a slumbe party tomorrow and is thinking of handing out the stamped addressed postcards to her girlfriends to get them to jot short messages -

GREAT IDEA: He'll like getting the extra mail, and the attention it will generate... Be sure to have them perfume them, and write encouraging words, like:

"Why did your other girlfriend say you thought your DI is such a creampuff. Isn't that easier for you?"
"Stay strong. I'm sure your platoon isn't really a bunch of pansies afraid of doing any REAL running!"
"I think it's just hilarious about the hiding place you found to put all of those candybars!" (His room will be inspected within an inch of his life, and STILL they'll find nothing).

By the time they finish IT with this kid, he'll look like the Hulk!

OK. No, don't really write THOSE things! I'ts fun to kid around, but would be mean to really DO.

By all means, have them write encouraging, positive stuff! My kid (in the ONE letter we DID get) has said how important mail from outside is... Sometimes, it's the only thing that brightens up a day...

when will we find out their box numbers? I'm not sure if I should send his personal things today or wait till I get box number. Any idea when and how we find box number?

I, too, am kinda worried about sending things w/o box #

Son says "send the window fan." Guess that's too big for a mail box, but still, I feel like he might receive it more quickly if I had the box #.

they should have their box number by now, unless they get them today. they should be able to tell you all that stuff on their phone call on sunday. even if you don't have it, you can send the stuff, and the guys in the post office will just look up thier box numbers. just don't make a habit of not including the #'s, cuz the mail troll will get grumpy if it continues
