Personally, I’m going to be a public school graduate who’s got accepted to Choate. Moreover, I had gotten a 95 percentile. It’s definitely possible; however, I do agree with the claims that public school does not prepare you for private school. I can already see the shifts in thinking as I keep asking questions about my school.

Public school ftw!!! My brother and I were the first public school kids accepted to PA in a number of years, but it is possible. Just work hard. The only advantage, imho, that provate has ofer public is the preparation and counciling he school gives for the BS application process. At public, there is virtually no support. Lucky for me, my teachers cared about me a lot and were eager to help. Just work hard and hope for the best. Btw, did not have straight A’s and had around 90 percentile (with one score being in the 60 percentile).

I don’t know how many people are following this thread(?) and I do realize that this dates from 2013…but just in case it’s relevant to anyone out there now. BS’s accept a LOT of public school kids. PA’s stats, by way of example, “From public schools: 43.4%, From private schools: 54.5%”. You can find this data on most school websites under their “fast facts” section. Public school applicants are definitely not second class citizens when it comes to BS. These are facts, not speculation.
Please do not resurrect old threads. Closing.
