Hey guys, I was just wondering if SAT/ACT scores are required to transfer to another university if I already spent a year in college and I am applying the fall of my sophmore year to go in as a junior. I was also wondering what else is needed into order to transfer, for example how many rec letters. One of the schools I am applying to is Columbia University and I am hoping for some advice.

Colleges vary, there is no single answer about test scores or LORs. You need to go to the college websites and see what their requirements are for transfer applicants.

It took me about 15 seconds to find Columbia’s testing, LOR and all other requirements: Columbia.edu > Admissions > Schools > Columbia College > Apply > Transfer Admission

It really matters where you want to go. For Columbia, it is necessary that you take either the SAT or ACT. I’d recommend that you look at their website!
