Im taking the IB program and I read the comparisons of AP and SAT subject tests..I didnt see anything about the IB and SAT subject test comparison. If you guys can help me out that would be great.

Though i’ve only taken practice IB exams for later this year, in my opinion the SAT IIs are FAR easier than any IB exam. Since IB exams are what, 2 or 3 papers, each at like 1:30 to 3:00 long, multiplied by 6…yeah, SAT IIs are FAR easier. Only 3 subjects (max), and each test is only an hour long. Oh also, they’re ALL multiple choice, in comparison to the endless amount of essays on an IB exam.

holycrap yes.

Math II was certainly easier than the IB Math SL exam, in terms of the math level alone. Aditionally, the IB Math SL exam requires you to show your work, and actually go in-depth with problems. There are only a handful of problems on the IB Math SL test, and 50 on the Math II test.

And… IB Physics (HL) is surely harder than SAT Physics (haven’t taken it though I know people who got 2s and 3s on it). Again, just the depth of it is so much more.

hope I helped!

thanks for the replies. so the material that’s covered on IB is similar to the SAT subject tests?

yeah, i guess. some of it is easier than IB math (there definitely aren’t derivatives on the test)
