I'm in the IB Diploma currently taking IB Physics. Given that I want to apply to MIT, they require a math and science SAT Subject Test. I'm already going to take Math 2, however, i am worried about the Physics Subject Test. Because the IB Diploma is over 2 years, my concern is that I won't learn half the content that will be on the SAT Subject Test and i'll have to self-study, which frankly anyone who is in the IB knows that there is no time to do so. I can't take Bio or Chem because I took those classes earlier in HS and don't remember the subjects well enough.

Finally, how is the curve for the subject test? I was considering doing history because I'd heard you can get -15 and still score an 800, but once i read about MIT's requirements I gave up on history.

Physics has a very nice curve. It’s probably similar to the history curve you’re talking about. If I remember correctly, you can get an 800 with 14~ blank (not necessarily wrong). I’m not really familiar with the IB program, but I took AP physics B for a year, and self-studied for the exam for a couple weeks (princeton review and sparknotes) and was able to get an 800.

Thanks for the replies. Again, the 59 and up/ 63 and up are answers OMITTED, correct? So in general if i dont know an answer is it best to leave it blank? (This might seem like a stupid question but i only know about the act)

Those are raw scores, which include the guessing penalty. Always guess. If you can eliminate just one answer, it is beneficial to guess. Even if you can’t, it’s a wash.
