Is there a quota of students that UC’s can take from a specific community college? I am asking with the more competitive schools in mind such as UC Berkeley and UCLA. I go to a great CC with an amazing student body, many of whom do incredible leadership ECs and are great in their studies, and I truly do wish them the best with their transfer goals. But I was just wondering–that if my school is one of the CC most represented in terms of transfer students who go to say, Berkeley, then will that work for my favor or against it, or neither really? Especially if many of these students are in my major and are incredible at it. I also read something about how UCs are looking to represent other CCs more into their transfer pool than the ones right now that are overly-represented such as mine, so idk. Basically, I’m asking- is acceptance just based on merit or are there more factors taken into account?
Is there a specific quota? No. That isn’t how they assess you.
