Are (several) clubs really that bad?

My community/school doesn't really give me a lot of opportunities for EC's, so I have joined a lot of clubs. Clubs aren't my only EC's (I do XC, Track, Debate, student council) but the majority of my EC's are clubs. I've heard clubs as EC's are bad- is this true? I honestly am passionate and involved with my clubs (Key Club, SADD, UNICEF, Chem. club,etc..) and I have some leadership positions in several of these clubs. Does it help that I founded a couple of them? I don't want admissions officers to think I picked the easiet EC's to pad my resume and I'm not really passionate/ involved in them. Also, these clubs represent a variety of fields- I don't want to be seen as spreading myself too thin. I think the fact that I founded a couple of them coupled with my leadership shows I honestly care about each of these. So is it bad to have most of my EC's as clubs, even though I have leadership in a lot of them?

How are clubs bad? Honest question…because they are a great EC activity; they allow students to experiment and lead according to their own beliefs (more or less).

Yay. Haha I don’t think clubs are bad, but on several EC forums I have heard posters classify clubs as of a lower rank than all other EC’s.

Clubs are low Extra Curricular if you didn’t accomplish anything.

If you’re in the Yearbook Committee, did you accomplish anything special? New section maybe?
