Went to an information meeting last night and the speaker said that parents and siblings confer legacy status to applicants and no one else. Can anyone confirm this? An article written several years ago states very clearly that only children of Dartmouth grads are considered leagacy.

Speaker misspoke. Dartmouth only considers children of Dartmouth undergraduates as legacies.

Dartmouth likes siblings. If there were to be any “tip” it is when the older sibling is in attendance when the younger sibling applies. It is not unusual to find siblings in attendance at the school. Is your sibling currently enrolled at Dartmouth?

No, sibling is a recent grad, not currently enrolled. It is what we thought. Ah well, hs senior will just take her best shot and hope for the best.
