Are the academics rigorous?

I am a student looking for a challenge. Are the academics at Mount Holyoke rigorous? Thanks.

Wrong forum?

Shoot I meant Bryn mawr. too much looking at the Mount Holyoke website!!

Hi Natalie,
Classes at Bryn Mawr can definitely be a challenge, The work load can get pretty intense, particularly around midterms and finals. Personally, I’m in class 10 hours a week and spend at least another 20 to 30 hours outside of class studying and writing papers.
In addition to the actual work load, I think professors expect more of students in general. Most of my classes have been on the smaller side, so they are more discussion based, rather than lecture. So professor expect students to work through the material and contribute to the discussion.
Even though classes definitely get a bit intense, there are a lot of supports available to students. Professors, for example, have office hours during the week. You can stop in to say hi or with a question about the homework. That’s a time, when they are required to be in their office to work with students. WE also have TAs and tutors available and there is a writing center in the library that can help you along any stage of the writing process (from generating an idea to final edits).
