We toured campus junior year and are now wondering if a trip for Admitted Student Days is worth the expense. Can any past attendees share their experience of going? Thanks!
I hope so. We are booked for next month. Living in our corner of the country, S2 applied to four colleges sight unseen.
@politepretzel, are you (or your child) still on the fence about whether to attend? If so, then yes, I think it’s worth it but I understand that it’s expensive. My D is a sophomore there now, and for her it absolutely sealed the deal. However, we are in driving distance so it wasn’t very expensive.
I know some one who went last year and they said it was nothing special.
I personally didn’t go, but as long as you are open to experiencing college life, I know most students love it.
Current sophomore here. When I was a HS senior, I’m pretty sure there wasn’t much to them. It seems like they’ve added a lot more since then.
It all depends upon your student. If it is your first then go with them. It is worth the lifetime of memories. It will be expensive but worthwhile if you can afford it. It is truly nothing special…just hype to make you feel better with all the money you will be paying the school and living expenses. You will learn a lot about your child.
In our case, we will be sending our second child (DS) only. One is fully paid by one university in Boston. Two are on us for airfare, one to NY and one just up to Northern California for the other. The room and board at all three paid by the universities.
