Are the RUMORS about Princeton TRUE?

The truth is revealed about the OP! lol.

I agree with jmarsh2006.

To the OP: You should search the CC database for the MANY threads that have debated this topic, visit Princeton and the other colleges that you want to apply to, and not let other peoples' views sway your decision. (Hint: NOT Evaluating a school by what your counselor said is a start). -_-

What I meant by "Easy Ivies" was "Easy Ivies (to get into)".

Academically Challenging Top Schools: MIT, CalTech, Cornell, Berkeley, Chicago and in a lesser degree, Duke

Notoriously Grade-Inflated-Schools: H & Y

Notoriously Preppy/Snobby/Elitist School: Princeton (prestigously preppy)...... and in some degree, University of Richmond, Washington & Lee (UR and W&L are no way near the top)

Alu- gedanken Gesamtkunstwerk

Preppy isn't a bad thing!

Any bets that the new poster here is just the OP with a new screen name?

prolly... simple IP check will say yes!

Um.... confused as usual?

http://www.dailyprincetonian.com/ar...ews/15038.shtml

At present, the difference between residential college dining contracts and full eating club membership fees ranges from a few hundred dollars to over $2000, depending on the club. The University provides no financial aid grants for these expenses, but loans are available through the financial aid office, just as there are for unsponsored trips or computer purchases.

Some students, Lenahan and other USG members argued, are deterred from joining a club because of these higher costs. But an aid program could help eliminate these financial concerns. "Someone with less financial means should be able to participate in this part of the Princeton experience," Lenahan said.

ICC chair Marco Fossati-Bellani '07, who is also president of Colonial Club, described an economic and social divide between club members and non-club members. "The University is fooling itself to think there isn't a divide," he said in an interview following the meeting.

Do you really think everyone is as stupid as you? You've claimed to be everything from a Princeton 2010 student to an algerian camel herder. Maybe you forgot to create new accounts each time

You have no idea what you're talking about. Any search about this issue will result in tons of threads about the difference between a stereotype and the truth. You're almost as bad as that yale troll.

Nobody cares about you so shut up and **** off.

Ahh...the Yale troll. I don't think anyone could top him. :D

Troll? Lies? Don't any of you have a reason for being on this forum besides to attack the character of others? Doesn't anyone here have a life???? Seriously, who makes up silly slogans and labels people 'trolls,' lol. It's more than a little pathetic! Besides, the senior year grades for both posts were predicted, as were the SAT scores for the 2nd posting on middlebury. But those weren't even my grades, or my scores, I did that for someone else who's worried about college and her chances....you all need to seriously mature, grow up, and do something with your lives before you go on to college and become the most-hated-people-on-campus....seriously!

yawn.......

Kjoodles, who are you, and what gives you the right to disparage people who are responding to MY question. I posted not for random hobo's roaming around a college forum to post slander like:
"shut up and **** off"
but rather for people to give me serious responses to a question that has plagued Princeton for quite a long time. Get a life. Grow up. And learn to respect others!

I second Cassadie. Coluhopeful, let it go. You've made your presence, you've gotten your responses.. and let's leave it at that. There's nothing more you need to do/say here, so you move along, and we will too.

cry me a river baby

You are full of it. Here you are trying to play the moral high ground with your philosophical BS about trying to help discuss an issue. What you forgot to mention is that your not trying to discuss anything because your not willing to understand that your perceptions can be wrong. Everyone's telling you that princeton is different yet all you do is cry about disparging? Why don't you create a few more accounts to back up your view? :)

Coluhopeful's words: "serious responses to a question that has plagued Princeton for quite a long time."

Sorry, but I don't really see any of the issues you talk about. The fact that you call them rumors is enough to reveal your own disbelief of these notions.

40 years ago, Princeton may have been like this. Now it's totally different.

We can't seem to decide whether we are talking about
--princeton as a good or bad choice
--OPs true identity and intention
--personal comments about other members of the discussion (generally negative)

My conclusion is that Princeton must be a pretty school to attract this level of trolling for flames.

lmao......

Actually, my dad went to Princeton in the seventies and even THEN it wasn't that bad. He wore combat boots and long hair, avoided the eating clubs, laughed at the rich preps, and had the time of his LIFE. He's so pleased I'm going there. Now that my older brother is there, especially with the new residential colleges, things have improved even more. When I visited, I met a lot of fun, creative, down-to-earth kids who were both brilliant and humble. It's one of the things that made me fall in love with the school.

OP: You got several comprehensive responses that you didn't even appear to notice. Your posting history is obviously suspicious, and you could easily have posted explanations for the inconsistencies the first time the question was raised instead of throwing a fit, pointing fingers, and pretending your rumors had never been addressed. If you want a discussion, then discuss.

Why is this thread still kicking and breathing? Off with it, I say.

^^^ What an informative posting :) Congratulations- you well deserve Princeton !!! A thoughtful student like you makes Princeton so special. Other people should tone it down and discuss what was presented, not on personal issues, tsk tsk
