Are the SAT and ACT really considered equal?

Are they really considered equal? My top choice school says about 80% of students submit SAT scores, 10% submit ACT scores, 20% submit both...

If I got say, a 32 on my ACT, and 2100 on my SAT, common wisdom says the 32 is better.

Are they really considered equally?

Yes, they really are.

“:My top choice school says about 80% of students submit SAT scores, 10% submit ACT scores, 20% submit both…”

this says that the school doesn’t attract kids from the midwest much where ACT is de rigeur. How then does one extrapolate that the favor the 90% over the remaining 10% who only submit ACT?

There’s no reason to do so other than to diminish the pool of potential students.
