Are the Woodrow apartment-style dorms good?

Hey there! :) I am currently a freshman at University of South Carolina Beaufort and I am transferring to Columbia campus next semester. I would like to hear some reviews on Woodrow dorms. Are they any good? Experiences?

My student has a good friend in Woodrow. It is a good location, across from Russell House. Friend is happy with the apartment and the roommates. I will ask for further information but I know the location is a big plus.

I lived in Woodrow sophomore year. The price is quite high. You could find much cheaper and probably larger off-campus. That being said, the location can absolutely NOT be beat.

I had a two bedroom apartment and I loved it. Mine was on the end, so we didn’t have a door directly to the outside. I don’t think I would have liked that for safety issues, but my other friends were fine with it.

AUGirl, what was the price for you? And yeah I have noticed the location is very convenient.

Oh and Goin2SC, let me know what they say.

I think it was $3500/semester. So $7000 for the year. You can definitely find much cheaper off campus.

[University Housing](<a href=“Housing - Housing | University of South Carolina”>Housing - Housing | University of South Carolina) It’s gone up this year and will probably go up next year.

You might want to see if you can sublease from someone who is studying abroad in the spring. You can still live within walking distance and be off campus.

If you’re interested in living in the dorms to meet people, then Woodrow (and all apartment style) is just a plain terrible idea. My roommate and I tried to get to know our neighbors, but it just wasn’t a conducive environment for that. Suite and traditional style are much better (and also a lot cheaper).
