<p>Are their students from major urban areas like new york or are most of the students from southern towns? I'm from Miami and not preppy or into the frat scene but Virginia is the best school academically that I am considering. i was just wondering if there is a population of city kids at UVA.</p>

<p>im from new york city and a first year at uva! there are lots of kids from DC, Baltimore, NYC, Atlanta, etc etc</p>

<p>1/3 of the students are from Northern Virginia suburbs.. i wouldn't exactly call these people "southern".</p>
