Are there analysis/desk jobs for geology majors?

<p>Would it be possible for a math/geology major to get an econ-related job in the environmental field? Basically just analysis and research related stuff. I'm not a math/geology major but I'm just curious.</p>

<p>By geology I mean the major which is heavy in physics, math and chem, btw.</p>

<p>My eldest son is a Geology and Physics major and his expectation is that most entry level positions in Geology at the BS and MS levels contain a significant amount of time out in the field.</p>
