I've noticed that EVERYONE from my HS that has gotten into an ivy no matter what has been a member of the science club (not exaggerating). Does this suggests a pattern or could it just be a coincidence because most smart people join the science club?

No coincidence. It’s basic Ivy Law that students have to be a member of the science club. If you’re not, then applying is honestly a waste of time and money.

Note: My HS has a very strong science club that does well in competitions. most top students at math/science oriented if that makes a difference.

There’s not even a science or maths club in our school…

Confused92 was completely joking.

It’s probably, like you said, because your science team is ranked so high.

Similarly, I was accepted into Columbia U. with my main extra-curricular being math team. It stood out because it consistently placed top 10 in the nation at the MAO math national competition.

I wasn’t on any science teams and got into Ivies and Ivy peers. So no, it may just be more of a coincidence lol.
