Are there any good vocabulary apps for the ipod/iphone?

Does anyone have any experience with vocabulary apps... are they a waste of time? should I just get Direct Hits?

Get a flashcard app (I use Flashcards Deluxe, $3.99) and just download all the Direct Hit flashcards onto them. Most flashcard apps, including mine, have a feature that lets you download flashcards directly off of quizlet. Its actually very productive to have a flashcard app. I use it when I am bored in school. During this time, I usually get through about 400-800 flashcards, depending on how much time I have.

SAT100, could you link me the flashcard app? Also, is this for iPhone or Andriod? And where do you get the DH flash cards from?

I have an iphone, I don’t know about Android. I know for a fact that Android has decent flashcard apps, I just don’t know whether this one is on there.

I can’t really link you to it, but if you go to the app store on your iphone/itouch and search ‘Flashcard Deluxe’ it should be the first choice. It costs $3.99, but its well worth the price. I get all my vocab studying done during school or during the ride to and from school.

As for how to get the DH flashcards, the app already has a built in function to let you download flashcard sets directly off Quizlet and Flashcardexchange. You just search Direct Hits, and you will find sets for both volumes.

Thank so much! I will download them now and start studying. :)

I’ve tried a bunch of these and just got this new vocabmatters one. It’s pretty solid w/o crazy bells and whistles. A bit boring at the beginning, but far less painful than carrying around a billion cards in my bag.

You should try SmartVocab. It’s $2.99 or something, but there are times when it goes on sale for free. It’s not phenomenal, but the best one I found.

Vocabador is a really good game testing you on vocab

Hey guys,

I wanted to ask you where do you get your flashcard sets - (just) from quizlet or do you have any other resources?

I think Princeton Review has an app

If you want to create quickly pairs of Question/answers and test yourself regularly, then I think iVocAudio is also a very good candidate.

if you have an iPad/tablet, try out myvocabapp ([Memorize SAT and GRE vocabulary | myvocabapp](http://www.myvocabapp.com/)) it’s not an app yet, but it works well on the browser
