Are there any particular requirements to practice white collar criminal law?

I plan on majoring in engineering so that I can have diverse opportunities when beginning law practice. Will having the requirements for patent/I.P. law limit my chances of working in the corporate/white collar criminal field? Or will the degree aid my practicing opportunities on both fields?

It won’t limit you. Be prepared to explain why you went from Engineering to White Collar work though. It would also be a good idea to research White Collar work, as it’s generally not what people expect to find. Most of the major firms with white collar practices are doing FCPA or securities work, which involves a lot of internal investigations inside companies and relatively little time in front of courts/regulators.
