I've read through some other threads on Vocab and I saw that even with the best books only about 1 in 30 words you learn will be on the exam. I figured that learning both the Vocab and the roots would get you a lot more bang for your buck, I just dont know if there are any Prep books that are like this. Anyone have any in mind?

Yes, the Barron’s critical reading workbook has a section of roots.

The book I personally enjoyed and will highly recommend is called Word Power by Norman Lewis. [Word Power Made Easy: Norman Lewis: 9780671741907: Amazon.com: Books](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/067174190X/gm062-20)

It is an old book and I don’t know if it is in fashion any more, but it is an amazing book. It actually made me excited about learning roots and see connections between words that previously seemed to have no connection. It delves in to roots and it is excellent for creating vocabulary for the long term. Think of using this book for creating a solid foundation of words and grasp of language that goes beyond SAT and will serve you for the rest of your life.
