Website says no but a friend mentioned her son is in one. Could someone clarify? thx
Yes. But they are not recognized by Princeton
Princeton does have Eating Clubs
so what exactly does that mean? about what percent of students involved?
Fraternities and sororities exist as completely off-campus organizations that are not recognized by the university, which strongly discourages students, and prohibits frosh, from joining them.

However, the university has eating clubs which have some fraternity and sorority like characteristics, but they are co-ed, and some are non-selective.
@ucbalumnus summed it up
About 15%, if that.
About 2/3 of juniors and seniors join the eating clubs; although the clubs’ primary purpose is to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner, they do host parties, outings and other events, which makes fraternities/sororities redundant for the vast majority of students. Because the fraternities/sororities are not officially recognized, it’s hard to find up-to-date info on membership, but skieurope’s estimate of <15% sounds right – my sense (based on no reliable information whatsoever) is that it may even be in the 5-10% range.
