Hey I was wondering if the quiz mean for other sections were also as low as the ones in my section since my section has been constantly getting mid 1 averages. Is this normal? I though meighan said he wanted sections to shoot for a 3.5 average.

(Quiz #5 had a mean of around 1.6 and SD of about .8)

study with people from your section/help each other out and ensure that everyone does well on lab exam I. that way your section average is really high and you guys will get a huge bump in the end.

my GSI (Melissa) told us that the GSIs decide on what the second midterm consists of, not Mike. So for example, i have lab tuesday night with Melissa. She and Vedita, who teaches the same time slot but in the other room, will come up with questions and such for the tuesday night lab people. I assume that the same applies for all other lab times.

ah, i see. so just to make sure that for 1al I dont sign up for any of these 3 during telebears, helen always teaches a friday section and christian/vedita always teach tues from 6:30-9:30 for all semesters?

i don’t know if it can be said that the GSIs have the same time slot from semester to semester. it shouldn’t matter what GSI you get though since everything gets curved to 3.5 average.

generally, christian & helen teach friday mornings though this semester christian isn’t doing friday morning. the other times are pretty random. you can’t assume a certain gsi will teach when. it’s based on your luck.

think about this way. hard gsi = better prepared for lab exam I = more points added to score for your bump = good grade in class

Ok, people say Helen is a hard GSI and her quizzes are really hard for me. BUT why does it seem like everyone else is doing really well in my section and the average is really high. She doesn’t tell us the average but I swear, it has to be like a 3/4. Anyone else in Helen’s section?

aerial you’re just imagining stuff. averages are still about 1 or 2 i would say (based on the my half of the room that was talking about the test.)
