Are these enough AP classes for the 11th grade?

9th:
none

10th:
none

11th:
Language Composition
Spanish 3
Biology

I was going to get AP US History, but because of schedule conflicts, that is not possible.

It all depends on how many AP classes are offered at your school. My school offers eleven AP courses; I took one tenth grade, five eleventh grade, and two twelfth grade (along with two college classes). However, I've spoken with people from my area whose school offers no AP classes and their highest foreign language level is Spanish II.

And another thing, because I'm part of AOTT, a Small School Learning Community, I MUST take a BS class labeled "AOTT". What's this wonderful class about? Teaching job interview skills and stupid BS like that. Hopefully I can get that class changed for another AP, or for ceramics.

Don't get brainwashed by cc into thinking that there is a set amount of AP's or a set sat/gpa that'll get you in. There isn't. the magic number just doesn't exist.

How many AP's is "enough" really all depends on your school. Most schools I've heard of don't let underclassmen take AP's. Taking 3 AP's jr year at an average high school is completely acceptable. Just make sure that you do well in them.

I am a senior at Harvard. stele32/psychicspies are correct. Harvard doesn't have a magic cutoff for admission based on "take X amount of APs and you're in". You are FINE don't worry. Don't try to get out of required classes that may come in handy sometime or be fun. I took:

Freshman yr: none
Soph. yr: none
Jr yr: 1 AP (1 offered)
Sr yr: 3 APs (4 offered)

please, i repeat this all the time, don't think you have to take all the APs offered and feel you have to be the smartest to get into your top school. if you really want to go to Harvard next year and you are concerned with APs, try to see if you can show intense intrest in things outside of the academic range. be a person outside of class. I am a member of the Harvard class of 2009 and I even got in early, but AP wise I was not doing so-hot. There are TONS of APs offered at my school, but here is what I had on my transcript:
9th grade: zero APs
10th grade: zero APs
11th grade: ZERO APs!
12th grade: four APs
Now I know that is a big jump not many people are willing to make, but don't worry if you are only taking a few your junior year. Show them you have something else if it really concerns you that much.
It isnt all in the numbers!

Hey CaliforniaCutie, what EC's did you have? What did you score on your SAT's? Thanks.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=16882&page=4&pp=20

Californiacutie's stats are near the bottom of the page. I thnk you'll be quite suprised...

I am hoping "surprising" wasn't a bad thing. True, that is where my stats are (my dreaded stats). As for my extracurriculars, I enjoyed doing a lot and I stayed in those areas. Here are some:
Three sport varsity athlete (track and cross country captain, track MVP for three years, etc.), ASB, Dorm Counselor and Dorm Prefect (boarding school obviously), Head Tour Guide, Student Head of the Student Curriculum Advisory Committee, Student founder of the Gender Committee, newspaper reporter, etc. etc. etc.
As you can see, I didn't cure cancer or go to Africa to slow the AIDs infection process. I found what areas I really enjoyed (mostly running, orchestra, dorm council, and leadership) and expanded from there. Don't worry, I am not a sports recruit... nor do I have a rich daddy who paid my way in... and no one else in my family has even seen the Harvard campus before, let alone go there. I wasn't a shoe-in.
All things are possible. Go for it!

Wow man on fire, I was suprised!!

Suprised at your post. That's really rude of you. Unless you are on a Harvard adcom and see the apps of many acceptees (no...not these "stats" posted on CC, we all know people lie), which you obvi aren't since you are 16, I wouldn't comment that its suprising CaliforniaCutie got in. You're living under God's thumb as you wrote...you're not God and can't judge people. Jeez...

"Are these enough AP classes for the 11th grade?"

what the hell do you mean enough....take a challenging courseload but one where you will do the work and will be successful, dont overburden yourself - theres no specific amount u need to take...
