teaching myself Latin
submitting many answers on Y!Answers and becoming a top contributor multiple times
studying abroad in France for a semester

The study abroad would be resume worthy, but is not an EC. Latin again is not an EC but could be used as an essay topic potentially. For Y!Answers, just no…

Thanks I appreciate your response

I don’t know if those ECs, but your first and third points are definitely worth putting down somewhere on your application.

If you wrote essay about how you enjoy helping, teaching, explaining things, etc., then you could tie in the Yahoo Answers.

I’m not an expert but I think that the Yahoo thing is hardly an EC.
However, the semester in France and teaching yourself Latin are definitely worth putting down. Especially the latter, because it shows that you can take the initiative yourself, instead of just doing the bare minimum that your teachers expect from you ;)

Yes. You can implement these into your essays

I could take the Latin SAT II for proof I think

If you score particularly well on the SAT II, coupled with a mention of how you were self-taught, that would definitely look good for schools. Probably best not to mention the Yahoo answers thing as it doesn’t really demonstrate any specific aptitude.

I agree with the people above the teaching yourself Latin and semester in France are definitely resume worthy. Semester in France could make a good essay topic
