I want to get into a BS/MD program for college instead of having to go through 4 years of undergrad and then 4 years of med school. We are choosing classes for next year right now…are these good classes for sophomore year to get me into the program?
AP Biology
Honors Chemistry (in our school we can’t take AP chem until 11th grade)
Honors English
Advanced Calculus at the University
Human Anatomy
Health (if I test out, I will take zoology which is an advanced class in our school)
AP Macro
AP Euro
Spanish
Model United Nations
Thanks for your help!
I really need some advice!!! Thanks!
10 classes is too many.
I’d cut out Human Anatomy or Zoology or both.
Don’t overload as a sophomore.
Focus on having all your core classes in honors/AP and getting A’s in them (calculus, Spanish, bio, chem, AP Euro, English are all good) and everything else is a cherry on top.
Then, make sure you have appropriate activities (EMT, volunteering at a clinic with lots of Spanish-speaking people so that one of the doctors could write a recommendation…)
In our school, we need to have 16 credits a year to graduate, though and the classes above add up to 16 credits. Maybe I won’t test out of health so I can have one easy class. Thanks for your advice!
What classes are you taking in 9th grade and/or have gotten credit for thru other means?
your probably on track, but seriously… you get to go through high school once. Don’t take 10 classes your sophomore year. Please. You can impress with quality over quantity.
