Are these schools possible with my stats?

Hi, I am a rising senior at a pretty average public high school in Georgia. I am in the top 1% of my class at this point and I thought I had a pretty good chance at the "little ivies" and maybe a shot at the real ivies. But I've been reading the chance-me threads on this site and now I'm starting to feel like I'm kidding myself regarding the schools on my list. Can anyone chance me for the following schools and give me some ideas for match and safety schools? I'm not sure if this is just me psyching myself out or if I really have to be worried about admission from the schools on my list. Thanks!

Georgia Tech
American
NYU
Boston University
Fordham
Yale
Columbia
Johns Hopkins
Tufts
UMich Ann Arbor
UChicago

Middlebury

Rising Senior
High School: Pretty average public; most graduates end up going to GCSU/GSU. The smarter ones go to UGA/Tech. On average, 3-4 students go to top 20 schools every year.
Intended Major: Double major in International Relations and Mathematics (maybe applied math), possible minor in either music or Arabic

Academic Stats (end of junior year)
GPA: 3.98/4.0 (UW), 4.18/4.0 (W)
(We have kind of a weird weighting system - for our numeric average we get 7 points on our grade for Honors/AP, but on the 4.0 scale we get no weighting for Honors and +.5 for AP)
Rank: 11/557 after first semester, but my grades were really good second semester so I expect to be back in the top 10 when I apply (based on weighted GPA, but does not really take into account the rigor of the courseload)
SAT I: 2350 first attempt (800 CR, 750 M, 800 W)
ACT: 35 first attempt (36 E, 35 M, 36 R, 33 S, 11 W)
SAT II: 750 USH. Taking Math II, Chem, possibly Lit in June, expecting at least 750 on all three.
*Always taken most rigorous courseload offered (chamber choir was a constant)
APs:
World History (4)
Chemistry (pending)
Physics B (pending)
United States History (pending)
Calculus BC (pending)
Lang/Comp (pending)
Senior Schedule: AP Computer Science A, AP Lit/Comp, AP Biology, AP Macroeconomics, Teaching Mentorship (planning to TI for my calc teacher), GT Distance Calculus (hopefully - if not then AP Statistics), Chamber Choir

Academic Awards:
Recipient of Agnes Scott Book Award
Recipient of University of Georgia Certificate of Merit
National Merit Semifinalist (pending, but with 231 I'm pretty sure I got it)
Semifinalist for Nordstrom Scholarship 2014
Nominated for Governor's Honors Program: 2013 (Math), 2014 (Math, Chorus, Social Studies, Communicative Arts)

ECs:

Right now I'm just looking at chances of admission from these schools. I'm not asking about the financial aspect. Thanks!

Georgia Tech: Low match/Match
American: Safety
NYU: Match
Boston University: Low match
Fordham: Safety
Yale: Reach
Columbia: Reach
Johns Hopkins: High match (match if ED)
Tufts: Reach
UMich Ann Arbor: Match (can you pay full-freight?)
UChicago: Reach
UPenn: Reach
GWU: Low match/Match
Macalaster: Match
Middlebury: Reach

Thanks for the chances! I probably can’t pay full at UMich, which is why I will only end up going there if they offer me a significant scholarship. Also, I’m just curious as to why you listed Middlebury and Tufts as reaches? I always thought they were matches for me. Thanks!

Match for UMich LSA.

You are a competitive applicant for every school on your list. Your stats are just fine. (Note: 11 (or < 10) of 557 is top 2% rather than top 1%) The super competitive ones will still be “reaches”, as holistic admissions are unpredictable. I would classify Tufts and Middlebury as match schools on your list.

The rest of your “chances” will come down to how you sell yourself in the application and who else the admission committees are comparing you against. Don’t let the angst on this site dissuade you from giving it your best shot.

You have a chance at every college on your list. It’s very well-balanced, as long as you are confident of GA-Tech as both an academic and financial safety.

I’m pretty sure I’ll get into Tech academically. As for financial, I qualify for the HOPE/Zell Miller scholarship, which is full tuition, and my parents have already agreed to cover R&B. There’s also an opportunity for me to qualify for the Presidential scholarship, which is like Foundation Fellows at UGA - it’s an all-expenses-paid scholarship. So yeah, I’m set financially for my in-state schools (I didn’t list UGA on here but I am planning to apply there) - it’s the OOS ones I’m worried about.

Thank you for your chances though!

you have a chance at all those schools but don’t expect to get into the upper-tier ones.

^curious, is that based on my stats or on the fact that those are reaches for everyone? I know the upper-tier schools are not guarantees.

GT: low match
American: safety
NYU: match
BU: low match
Fordham: safety
JHU: Match/high match
Tufts: match
UMich: match
GWU: low match
Macalaster: match
Middlebury: match

Yale/Columbia/UChicago/UPenn: I bet you’ll get into one, two if you’re lucky.

Chance back
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1654818-chance-for-duke-unc-nc-state-honors-college-will-chance-back.html#latest

You are competitive applicat for any school in the country.
Keep in mind that some schools on your list (e.g. Yale) will reject >90% of the qualified applicants, but you have just as good a chance as anybody.

I hope you realize you can only list TEN activities and FIVE awards on the common app.

I do realize that, thanks.

bump. anyone else?

anyone??

bumping a super old thread but I just got my scores for my pending tests:
SUBJECT:
Math II: 800
Chemistry: 780

AP:
Chemistry: 4
Physics B: 4
USH: 5
Calc BC: 5
Lang/Comp: 5

not sure if this changes any predictions. please chance me, will chance back!

Tufts: High match
Middlebury: High match

I also forgot to mention that I took off a bunch of schools from my list for various reasons, including Tufts, Macalaster, Middlebury, and George Mason. This is my final list of schools that I am definitely applying to:

Early: Yale SCEA (DREAM DREAM DREAM), GTech, UGA, U of M Ann Arbor
Regular: Princeton, Penn, GWU, Hopkins, Columbia, BU, American, NYU

if anyone can suggest any more schools (preferably match and safety) for OOS studying International Relations and Mathematics (pure or applied), please please let me know! Thanks in advance!

Not sure why you took off Tufts, since they boast one of the top IR programs in the country?

You are a very competitive applicant @yoloyng‌ but there are only 10 spots for EC’s on the CommonApp, the first 5 are great since they are all related to a central passion, you should pick the rest carefully based on what kind of person you are and where your true passions lie. Maybe add George Mason back in? you only have one safety another is a good idea.
