I think that?s it? thanks

they are realistic reaches for you. Now that you have your "reach" list, go and find some match and safety schools.

i disagree with betterday. You have your high matches. I would say maybe Pitt and Miami (OH) could be safteys. I would add Indiana and Illinois to that list. They are less selective versions of the schools above

Thanks for your comments,

I thought that U of san Diego would be my safety school

is that not the case>

no USD is a match for you

The way Michigan re-calculates GPA, you have a 4.0 GPA, and along with your 29/1950 ACT/SAT score, I would say Michigan is a match/slight reach for you. Apply as soon as the application comes out in August and I like your chances. I'd also say BC, Wake and USC are matches/slight reaches. Notre Dame is the only reach I see on your list. USD is a safety. Improve that SAT/ACT and I'd say your chances at most of the schools you are applying to would be good.

"no USD is a match for you"

I am not sure how you came to that conclusion Chillin. The mid 50% SAT/ACT ranges at USD are 1620-1920/23-28 and the mean graduating weighed GPA is 3.7. The OP has a 4.0 weighed GPA and his SAT/ACT are both in the top quartile of the students at USD.

ya Alexandre I was replying to the previous posters who said that the list was of slight reaches so I said that USD was a match. I think the OP can easily get into USD, and in no way is it a reach. I guess i just dont use the word safety loosely, but if I had to.... then Id say that USD is a safety.

also I think he would just have just short of a 4.0 Umich GPA due to his one B in Spanish sophomore year

I would think that you should get into all those schools. Notre Dame would probably be the toughest.

You have a good shot at all of em if you can raise your score just a bit.

And if you dont get into ND, dont worry. Besides, you wouldn't want to go to a school that gets killed by USC and Michigan every year.

I think you are in the range, although on the lower end of the SAT scores, for USC. http://www.usc.edu/student-affairs/parents/images/profilefreshman2006.pdf

If you can get your SAT/ACT scores up a little bit you should expect to be admitted.

Might want to look at Holy Cross- smaller version of Notre Dame. HC is near Boston and is a Top30 LAC. Holy Cross also has good athletics-both mens and womens basketball teams are in NCAA's.
