Are trade schools worth it? (Lincoln Tech)

A good friend of mine has spend a couple years at community college in maryland, his grades haven't been very good though. He went to go visit www.lincolntech.com today, and I want to give him advice but I don't really know much about how good these trade schools are. They were very convincing for him, and he was interested in their "Elecrical Systems Technician" position (he apparently wants to install home theater type equipment).

Sounds great -- but is this worth it? Costs 18k over 18 months. Do employers even really accept the degree you get from trade schools like this? Opinions and advice very much appreciate. The whole thing to me sounds a little shady, but maybe I'm being too critical.

Thanks!
Dan

these places wouldn't exist if they didnt give people some sort of edge. I would assume since theres no bachelors of installing electronic devices, that a technical degree would suit him well if he wants to do that. He most likely could get a job for IT at a company and do techincal support - although everythings so competitive these days, who knows what he could get. See if you or your buddy can find somoene who actually has graduated from a lincoln tech/devry/gibbs and see what type of jobs they got because fo the tech degree.
