Hi, I applied SCEA got deferred but still no interview
It’s just availability and it’s pretty random. Timing depends on when the regional lead assigns people, and this is also pretty erratic (so don’t read anything into it). I’ve been assigned interviews very early into the process and I doubt the admissions office has done a review of their profiles in such a short time. I’ve interviewed great candidates but also some pretty bad ones (they do exist), and I know my region typically has a shortage of interviewers.
It also depends on the area and how many alums are a part of that area’s Alumni Schools Committee. In the Wash dc area there are a lot of us so we are able to cover most of our applicants in a timely manner. I wouldn’t read anything into it.
