Are you bringing your car with you to college?

<p>I'm just curious to know who will. I'm debating whether or not to get a car. I'm only a junior in high school and some of the uni's I've talked to said that it's not necessary. Others say, "Why not?" I'm sure if I want to get a car.</p>

<p>Some universities don't allow freshmen to have cars, like Stanford. At some universities, you really don't need a car, like at Berkeley. I was in your place, too, junior year, trying to decide whether I should get a car or not, but ultimately decided I wouldn't need one.</p>

<p>There's no need for it as a freshman. When you decide to move off campus you should consider it, though.</p>

<p>Some colleges having a car is nice, some you aren't even allowed to for your first year. If you're a couple hours from home it's nice to be able to drive yourself home, and having a car is certainly convienient, since you won't have to be the guy that has to bum rides off of everyone all the time. Of course you do turn into the guy that gets asked for rides then. All in all you have to pick a college before you can decide.</p>

<p>Get the car. You'll use it a lot your junior and senior years of high school. If your college won't let you bring it, then I'm sure any younger siblings wouldn't mind taking care of it for a couple years.</p>

<p>i dont think you would want one unless you were going to a school only an hour or so away that you would want to come home frequently. schools charge for parking and some huge universities charge a fortune. i would save ur money, ull find a way around one way or another.</p>
