Blah I've been asking this everywhere. Sorry I just wanted to know if you were and if I should

i think it's required, though i've said this on barnard's as well i believe lol

haha thanks. I'm so out of it.

Senioritis...

but do you send it...or does your guidance counselor?...

It's not required. They'll look at it if you send it but it's def. not required.

will it be better?

cause i have ****ty grades nonetheless, might be better if im honest about it

Then how come the application has a page for mid-year report?

i'm sure they'd look at the midyear report to see how you've done first semester of senior year. they don't just neglect it and see how you end up overall with the final transcript. on the commonapp site there's forms for midyear reports, but i've heard there isn't one on nyu app's site, so that's kinda contradicting, though i can't come up w/ a reason why they wouldn't need it. either way, it wouldn't hurt to send one.

Okay, people, how many times does this question need to be asked? The answer to the question is no.

i know. it is quite amazing to see how many ppl never noe this fact. its explicitly mentioned in NYU admissions packet, and mentioned more than 100 times in CC.

It's hard to believe some of these people will be living on their own in a few months and they can't even read a page of instructions for a college application.

And its hard to believe that smug kids like YOU have nothing better to do but insult those who are trying to make it in life for their first time. Seriously, you're not making yourself look smart by doing this. Maybe you should go outside and breathe a little, or try to find something more constructive to do than bashing someone who had a simple question.

No comment...your comment speaks for itself.

all this fuss and bashing others just for commenting on the midyear report? sheesh excuse a person for trying to help, there's a fine line between "the mid year report is REQUIRED" and "i THINK the midyear report may be required." It's just a simple question, relax guys this isn't some competition, and noone needs some life advice about not knowing about the midyear report. some people don't have time to look through each thread... and to think over such a small thing this happens, and i may potentially end up with you guys next year? just, wow.

I read somewhere that a midyear report was not required (at least for regular decision applicants) so I didn't bother to send one in.

:D lol

random crap for message word limit

Read the f-ing application or go to NYU's website. That's alll you have to do. You'll find out in 2 seconds if you need a mid-year report. I did that...along with the 8 other schools that I applied to, while being an IB student, volunteering, working, playing sports etc. So no excuses with the time nonsense. It's called being responsible.

OK so i get that the mid year report is not required but I heard my college counselor say she was going to send senior grades to all the schools we are applying to because although they originally do not require the first semester senior grades, they usually end up requesting them from the school. Does this sound legit, or is she just on crack?

Hey HEAT 24. Sorry I couldnt respond to your post last night.......im not on here 24 hours a day like YOU. I love how kids like you (I take classes with your type) think they are so smart and know everything, but when it comes to the real world you have no idea of what it is really like. People like you, ya know, the kinds that bash everyone for their own satisfaction, wont make it in the real world. Instead of trying to help others, you find it better to insult them. Just because one goes to Harvard or Yale doesnt automatically make them smarter or better than anyone else. I think everyone on this board needs to realize this! Heat 24, go do some homework or something and stop trashing others.

Um, so back to me...
