Are you guaranteed a transfer to Emory College after 2 years if you go to Oxford?

This is kind of a stupid question, but I tried looking it up and I couldn't really find the answer. So I was wondering, if you get into Oxford but not Emory College, and you attend Oxford, are you guaranteed a transfer in junior year? Or would you have to take a test/reapply for Emory after that?

Thanks!

Uh, no. You maintain the minimum GPA (2.0 or 2.5 I think. Something higher than what is required to stay in ECAS) and they let you transfer.

Okay, thank you.

Uh, yes. You simply need to graduate from Oxford, which requires a 2.0. Then you *continue/i automatically from Oxford to the College. At the College, you only need a 1.67 to continue from your second year to your third year, but you wouldn’t be on track to graduate.

It’s not really a transfer, so much it is a continuation. To continue from Oxford to Emory Main you need to complete the Oxford requirements, some of which are different than those at the Atlanta campus, and have a 2.0 or higher. The vast majority of students are able to do so in two years or fewer.

That sounds good, thanks guys.

Once you graduate from Oxford, do you go straight into CAS, or can you enter another program (the business school in my case) for undergraduate study? If not, do you have to pass Oxford to get into Emory CAS and then apply for an internal transfer? What kind of hoops are there for non-CAS majors to jump through in order to get from Oxford to main campus (if any)?

For both students who start at the College of Arts and Sciences and students who start at Oxford, they have to apply for admission to the Goizueta Business School or the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of nursing. For both schools, there are credit hour requirements (64, so usually people apply in second semester of sophomore year) and prerequisite courses.

Admission to the School of Nursing is guaranteed for any student who finishes the prerequisite coursework and hour requirements. Admission to the business school is competitive and I believe that roughly 70% of applicants are admitted. These students usually have 3.5+ GPAs.

^ Thanks aigiqinf. So is their no application process to continue your degree in CAS, or do students have to reapply there as well?

*there

Autocorrect doesn’t seem to understand grammar.

There is no application process for the College of Arts and Sciences for Oxford continuees. You just sort of show up.

^ Good deal. Thanks for the info.
