Oxford college question

I tried searching but couldn't find anything. After 2 years at Oxford, is it an automatic admit to Emory or do you have to apply as a transfer? If it is an automatic admit, is there a minimum GPA requirement?

It is automatic as long as you maintain a certain GPA. Not sure what it is, but I’m thinking 2.8? You should check on that GPA with the school, but it you do not have to reapply to Emory after 2 years. I’ve had 2 graduate from Oxford. One graduated from Emory already, and the other is currently an Emory student. I’ll be glad to answer anything I can about Oxford or the transition to Emory.

One other thing though, admission to the business school, and I think the nursing school, is not automatic. Those 2 do require an application regardless of whether you are at Oxford or main campus.

From Oxford you get into Emory as long as you have a 2.0 gpa. So no you do not apply as a transfer. If you are applying to the business school or nursing school, it may be a different gpa than.

I wonder why I can’t seem to find the GPA required on the Oxford website. It would seem to be something prospective students would want to know.

On page 6/7, you will find the answer to your question. It is a 2.0 GPA. I know sophmores from Oxford and Emory main campus have to apply during their sophmore year if they want to attend the business school, because my oldest daughter graduated from there last year. Not sure about the nursing school. But Emory College is an automatic transfer once you have completed the requirements for Oxford graduation, and that includes the 2.0 GPA.

Also, although a 2.0 will satisfy the requirement to Emory College, the business school applicants generally need a higher GPA for acceptance. I assume all students are considered on the merits of their own transcripts, but it is fairly competitive and not everyone who applies from either campus will be accepted. The best bet, if there is an interest in the business school, is to consult with an advisor and make sure you take the classes that would be most beneficial for acceptance to Goizuetta.
