<p>So I got rejected from Yale EA, and my counselor wanted to know if that puts me into the regular applicant pool or if it means that I am rejected, rejected. As far as I know, I have been rejected, and that means they basically never want to hear from me ever again.</p>

<p>rejected means that you were rejected outright... they'd say "deferred" if you were deferred to the regular pool.</p>

<p>If it's any consolation, about 1/3 of the pool got rejected outright.</p>

<p>I wasn't too depressed about it, mainly because it is YALE and they reject loads of people.</p>
