I am not considered THE genius of the school (he's TOO smart for me). We have an 'accelerated class'.. which is the 'smart class'. and I wasn't picked for that :(

but i am in the top 5%. and heaps of people get really surprised by this because I don't look act, look, behave like a smart person

I personally don't think I'm that smart, I'm just good at memorizing things quickly, I do my homework, etc. I was at the top of my class at my old school last year. The thing is, I'm friends with the not-so-academically-inclined but really nice people, and they think I'm a genius, but most 'smart' students at my school don't feel the same.

i was the smartest until i went to a school with smarter people in it. -_-

it's all relative..

peopel say I am. I think they're idiots

screw school, lets talk nationwise.

How bout everyone write down the number of AP's, GPA, SAT, etc for there current grade, and we can use a dot-product to find everyones rank?

The smartest people are the humblest, and most down to earth people. Once you surrender to the fact that you will never be the smartest, you start to learn for the sake of learning, rather than competition.

sagar I agree although when you're in a small world it's hard to realize. I guess college is the best place to understand that.

smartest --- no, hardest working ---yes.

I'm definitely not the smartest person in my school although many people seem to think so. It's funny, people who don't know me very well think I'm a genius just based on my GPA, classes, and SAT scores,, but all of my friends know that I'm smart, but not THAT smart. There are many kids in my school smarter than me, but a lot of them are slackers, and a couple are the stereotypical nerds who fit the stereotype perfectly except for the fact that they haven't broken 2000 on the SATs yet.

Am I the smartest kid in my school? No, but I am one of the harder working kids and definitely one of the most well-rounded kids.

I'm considered one of the smartest at my school (mostly, because it sucks and I transferred from a much better high school).

Mostly, I know more things than them because I had much better teachers and I am hard-working. 4.0s and dilligence equate to smartness, according to most of my peers.

I am not a genuis.

I'm not the smartest, but I work hard. I'm in the classes where competition is rampant and grades mean everything. Unfortunately, I can name a handful that are not particularly "smart", but they spend a good bit of time studying, asking other peers for answers on the next test, and copying lab reports. I, on the other hand, do not mind helping these same people with their work by explaining a problem not giving them the answers. However, these are also the same people that rank higher than me, because of their not-so-honest ways of achieving grades. Just my two cents! :P

A lot of people call me that, since I was allowed to start school a year earlier. I know that if I tried, I could really get some great grades, but I'm just not motivated to try my best. I'm still doing fine though, and people still always come to me for answers on everything.

It's annoying at times, but I'm used to it....that's what I get for being the youngest by over a year.

people don't think i'm smart because i goof off in class, but i study like a mofo when i'm not around other people. i'd hate for them to know how much i study. i wish i was naturally intelligent...alas, i'm not. i am, however, fifth in my class.

which is schweet, i think. heh, whenever the "top ten" list at our school comes out, people that think i'm stupid get a big kick in the face.

I was considered one of the smartest in my year when I was in school... damn, was it a kick in the ass when I got to college!

By "smart" as in both hardworking and time management oriented, then yes.

By "smart" as in genius-esque then probably not. I am a firm believer that a lot of the true geniuses are apathetic about school and/or haven't discovered their talent(s). People in my school, however, consider me in this category

are you one of the smartest kids at your school?

..........N.O.........

....at least i don't think I am.

definitely not the smartest nor the hardest working.

but i was before i got to high school =)

I'm known for getting straight A's. I don't know if people would call me a genius but they might call me smart. I like being known for having good grades but it can get tiresome when people are constantly trying to copy my work.

prolixity -"but i was before i got to high school =)"

I know right!!!!:)
