Are you proud to be an American?

America is the only country, past or present, whose founding principles resonate with my values. When it falls short of these principles, it hurts me almost physically. When it expands their application, as it has done in the past, I am proud.

@fascination No. If crack was legal would you use it?

Are you proud of any of your personal characteristics or talents?

And if gays are allowed to marry, all men will marry each other and no children will be born! Never forget!

We can tell from history that these sorts of arguments make sense. After the end of prohibition, we had drunkards swarming the streets. After women were allowed to vote, no females ever left the voting booths. It’s crazy how reality works, but I guess we have to live with it.

I’ve never felt pride for a specific country. I feel like I’m more of a mix of many things. I suppose I do get that feeling for a specific culture, but it’s not one associated with a country.

I love the founding American ideals, but most of the time I’m just disgusted by the hypocrisy. when decisions are occasionally based primarily on these ideal though, it’s amazing. problem is, they aren’t often. even during the Revolution, these ideals where ignored by people claiming to be patriotic

Ive always been a proud American but dont like the direction were heading. I was raised to traditonal values and a traditional education so far. Capitalism makes sense and i dont like the socialist tendencies. I am proud and disappointed like many people. Recently I took a trip to see China for spring break. After being their I personally dont want to go back and realized how much better off we are in America. They are developing very fast but China is going to collapse economically soon is my prediction. There are nock offs of everything there and destroys other companies that are their helping build up that nation. The population is gigantic and is getting harder and harder for them to sustain. Their government is doing a great job so far but I just dont like Communism. Im glad to have my freedoms and my opinions and clean air. Some issues are silly we debate about but thats politics. I dont want to turn this into a political debate but thats how I feel Proud Disappointed and Hopeful for a better future.

^So many things wrong with that post I don’t even know where to start.

John Brown, really?

My family fled to this country from a third world dictatorship. I am very proud of the values America stands for; tolerance, pluralism , democracy, and equality and justice for all. God bless the United States of America.

Oh, I’m proud to be an Americaaaaan where at least I know I’m freeeeee! And I won’t forget the men who dieeeeed to give that right to meeeeee! And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend Her still today. 'Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA!

That’s a really cheesy song by the way.
