Are you suppose to list how many years you did an EC or just how many years you did it in HS?

I am confused. Let’s say that I took Vietnamese lessons for 13 years. I have read that it only matters what you did during High School, so do I just list that I took Vietnamese lessons for 4 years?

Or another example, I was on the Academic Team for all 3 years in middle school, but also all 4 years in high school. Do I list it as 7 or just 4 years?

Good question. My daughter has played violin for 9 years, so she said that, because she didn’t want anyone thinking she just started it to look good for college. I am sure it can’t do any harm to say “Academic Club, 2008-present.” I would saythesamefor Vietnamese.
