my mom doesnt use the computer. and i don't think she'll start again any time soon. =)

GoBlueAlumMom,

I wouldn't mind if my parents used this site and actually kinda wish my mom was like some of the parents here. I just thought it was really inconsiderate of my dad to go through and read all 200+ posts of mine about everything in my life. I guess he just wanted to be more involved in my life or something but really he could just ask me or act interested when I tell him stuff.

Nooo, my mom thinks I'm already too neurotic about college stuff... she doesn't need to join in.

I just wanted to chime in as a parent who uses CC and second what GoBlueAlumMom said. I am also the college info gather. Kind of like his personal assistant. I can say, that my son has express concerns about me posting "too much personal info". He does read this site when I point to a interesting thread.

they barely know english, the computer is considered a tv to them

zpmqxonw--I think you had every right to be upset about your Dad snooping through your posts. If he's only on CC for that sole purpose, that's not productive. I've been around plenty of my peers (parents) who don't know how to stay connected with their teenage kids and take the wrong approach. Teaming up for the college search and selection process is a great opportunity for parents to have a memorable and fun experience with their kids. This is a very exciting time in your lives. It's hard to imagine a parent not wanting to be a part of that!

My mother would never find this, even if she did, I don't think she knows what a forum is. Besides, I have nothing to hide on here anyway
