Arizona State University vs College of Charleston for Business

Hi, I’m trying to pick a school and I have to pick one by Sunday. I’m stuck between two colleges asu and college of Charleston . Asu is really far and I was not expecting to go that far. I was not a huge fan of how hot it was there and the desert look of arizona. All though it is cheaper and I got a scholarship of 10k. I want to major in business and I believe that asu has a better opportunity then cofc. Also I have a twin sister and she is going to asu. For Charleston I liked it a lot. It’s not to hot but relatively warm all year round. The classes are a lot smaller then asu so all though I could get a better education for business at asu I think I’ll get more done at cofc and be able to study and do work more effectively. All though Charleston is relatively more expensive then asu. But it is a lot closer to me then arizona is. They both are a plane ride away but Charleston is 1 hour and arizona is 5 hours. I can’t decide between which school so I wanted to hear input on what other people think.

ASU/WP Carey has a great reputation. Tempe starts to cool down in October, and is pleasant until April/May. You also need to consider the size of ASU. After freshman year most students live off campus.

Charleston is a beautiful city. I don’t know much about the college though. Which of the two do you think would have better internship opportunities? How much of a strain would the extra costs be on your family?

A plane ride is a plane ride. One or five hrs…why does it matter? I did my MBA at ASU. Kid goes to Charleston.

My presumption is you’ll do better out of ASU but if you are not majoring in supply chain it won’t matter. ASU is tops for supply chain.

The schools are very different. You can definitely make more an impact on the Charleston campus…whereas ASU is supersized Charleston is more like a large LAC where you have access to everyone, even the president.

No wrong choice. Good luck.

I’d say I’d get a better opportunity from asu. All though I think if I went to asu I definitely won’t do as good academically and I don’t think I’ll be as focused. And I think my parents will be able to cover the cost for the most part but my parents won’t pay for it all and I have to pay for some of it.

Thank you for your response. That’s what everyone says A plane ride is a plane ride. I think I’m just afraid that having that far of a plane ride will make me have a lot less opportunities to go home if I wanted to. Because if I went to Charleston I could go home for the weekend but if I went to asu I wouldn’t do that. But I do think I will get bigger opportunities going to asu because I want to major in business and they have a great business program. But I also think I’ll stay more focused at Charleston and do better at academically but I don’t actually know that so I can’t decide what would be the best.

Pick one and roll with it. You’ll be fine.

Going home is not the thing to think about. It’s time for growth and maturity.

You can be fine at either school.

They are very different. Charleston is small, like a liberal arts college.
