<p>Say you're a very good student and get arrested for drinking or something of that sort, how much will that lower your chances of getting into a GOOD college?</p>
<p>Okay, first thing , did you do jail time? Unfortunately, in that case, your colleges will know as your school records it on your criminal record 
and perhaps send it to fill</p>
<p>If you were just arrested and detained for drinking , IDK you have to check with your school on that ! </p>
<p>Don’t worry. The best thing to do is write a additional letter of explanation owning up to your drinking mistake and I’m sure that if you do so, they’ll understand somewhat. </p>
<p>And what colleges are you looking at btw?
Check your colleges policies on their websites. </p>

<p>The applications ask if you’ve ever been in trouble like this, so yes, that would lower your chances unless you had a really, really good explanation.</p>
