pavalon is to OA what byerly is to harvard lol

the perfect analogy. applause :p

oA can't exist without you pav! thanks for recruiting ;)

who/what is byerly?

"who/what is byerly?" - perhaps s/he would like explain? ;)

to add to the questions:

Did international EDers receive information about International Pre-or, or just RDers?

I'm an EDer and I didn't see any information about preor, and until I read the messages on this thread I wasn't even sure it existed. Gianievve, ur post made me question the OA (don't kill me Pavalon :) ) to some extent because I have the impression that I'll feel a little lost in space after I return from OA. OA still seems a lot of fun though..Why can't we do them both?:(

I think it would be great if students could do both, and it would only mean OA starting a few days earlier... :(

So EDers didn't receive any information about International Pre-Orientation? strange.

no, not yet, but bare in mind that the BIG packages are yet to come :D yummy yummy

Here's what i found so far about IpO:

First link
Quote: "International Pre-Orientation:

This involves the actual move-in part as well as practical things like helping them with getting their IDs, advising them on banks, taking them to the Princeton-Blairstown Center, showing them the way around and off campus, and much more.

An effort to give the international freshmen (including those who could not come to this pre-orientation) similar advice and help during the entire first year is ISAP's Dorm Liaison Program as described in another menu."

Second link (not at all about IpO, but helps with practicalities... does it?)

I admit i haven't got a very good image of what IpO is like... Did anyone find other links? Please post

Gracias for the links Pavalon. And it anyone does get more info do post! I guess EDers will get the info soon eh?

Okey, i'm reviving this thread. Apparently flights to US (at least from Romania) have to be booked well in advance.

So, when will intl and US students arrive at Princeton? Any of you made plane reservations?

Yup, a bunch of us made reservations for a flight on the 2nd, which, surprise, arrives in NY also on the 2nd. We will either talk to the OA ppl and ask them to house us somewhere (a depot, or in a tent somewhere ;) ) or we will stay at a hotel. I hope this helps: won't you come from your relatives in the us, revan?

Haha...pre-camping...nice!

yeah ive already booked my tickets too. they're going full pretty quick i think. im getting on the 20th of august and staying with some friends for two weeks and then i'm going for OA (hopefully...)

Hmmm...yeah, I guess I should at least start thinking about booking a ticket. Don't want to miss out on a flight I'd want. I'm leaving out of Houston, which is weird since I'm four hours away...but I'm visiting family right before I leave, so it's the only practical way to go. Intercontinental...I don't recall having that great of an experience in the airport, but it's been a while. Plane tickets, away!

tosses cape
flies away

Pav, what airline? As for coming from relatives, i'll se what i can do about it. I'll probably leave for US right after the IU-Bremen people depart for Bremen, which will probably be around August 20. So i should be in NY around Aug 21-22. I think my uncle stays in Fort Montgomery or something, on the banks of the Hudson, and from what he said that is about 2-3 hours from Princeton.
