Arriving at dimensions at 4:00... AM...

Okay, so I've decided to take the greyhound to dartmouth (where is the stop on campus btw?) for dimensions, BUT it arrives at 4 oclock AM... Where would you suggest for me to go for six hours? Should miss the first day and arrive at 5:30pm instead?

The greyhound stops right in front of the Hanover inn, literally next door to the hop and right across from the green.

D where are you taking the bus from that you are arriving in Hanover at 4am (you may end up being really tired by the time the rest of the gang arrives later in the day with out the opportunity to take a nap)

Do you have an itinerary? what time does things start pn the first day? If you are concerned with missing the first day, is coming at 6:30 pm the night before an option

You can call the admissions office and try arranging to have your host meet you early in the morning. I know in the emails to people volunteering to put prospies up for Dimensions, that they might have to arrange to pick up their prospie late at night. A lot of Dartmouth students are up this late studying anyway.

definitely dont come late. you wont want to miss it. im sure someone will be able to meet you then

Okay thanks guys. There is a bus that arrives 9:05pm the evening before, but I heard they do not host students for the night before opening day. I could take a plane instead, which would take 5-6 hours (including bus ride from manchester) instead of 12 hours by bus.

sent you a PM

i have a question... on the back of the dimensions pamphlet it says "for all hosting requests, please contact us at...." does this mean i have to call to arrange for a student host, otherwise i would have to check in at a hotel? thanks

Yes, you have to call admissions, let them know you are attending so they can set you up with a student host or you will have to check into a hotel.

This is kind of unrelated, but are we usually hosted alone or do hosts usually have 2+ prospies?

It depends on the space the person has. If a person has a single, it woudl be hard to host 2 prospies.

When my D was a prospie, their hosts lived in a suite in EW so it was her and another prospie. When she was a freshman, she an her roommate hosted to ED students during dimensions, then another student who could not make dimensions (they lived in a 3 room quad)

It's up to the host. On the form that we get to request to host '11s it just asks how many people could you fit in your room.

if arriving at 4 am.....bus drops u right in front of Hanover inn
plop yourself down on the lobby couches...bathrooms straight back and down
flight of stairs....then nap for 2 hours or more and go to Lous for breakfast around the corner and a few stores down from Inn...then hang in collis center

yeah definitely eat breakfast at lou's
why dont you just sleep all day on the bus and then stay up, i think lou's opens at 6 or something like that

Op, has worked things out an no longer has to arrive at 4:00 am
