Art Major at Cooper Union, am I enough?

I have two simple questions.

Is the art department in Cooper more of fine arts(painting, sketching..)? Or modern arts(digital, graphic, media, fashion..)? Or both? I would like to major in digital/graphic design and/or visual communication rather than fine arts, since I personally find it more useful and applicable in the work field. I also just enjoy it more.

And secondly, do you have to meet the requirements of SAT scores and GPA scores as the people applying for engineering and science? I haven't taken the SATs yet, I just started my Junior year, but I'm not crazy-confident for it. I'm studying!
But along with my concern of high expectations in SAT scores and ACT scores, my GPA isn't mind-blowing or anything. My classes were, and still are, all honors with an average of so far a 3.8. I've taken a language, French, all four years. I took art classes, graphic design, and media & advertisement and did well in them. Taking AP Studio Art next year.
I'm also well-involved in school activities; volunteering, clubs, sports(swimming), and TSAs(won a few designing competitions).

It'd mean a lot to me if any of you guys replied to this, referring to my concerns. Thank you in advance!

@julezsng516‌ Cooper Union does not care about your GPA/SAT (to an extent… obviously) if you are not applying for school of engineering. The school of Art allows you to take classes in all ranges of art— I remember going through the choices and it was very diverse. If you are set on Cooper Union as your target school then make sure your portfolio is ready and killer cause the competition for Cooper Union is crayyyy.

As much as your portfolio matters and such… the hometest(has the most weight to any part of the application) ---- is really fine art kinda centric. It revolves around having an idea, but the thing is, if you are more familiar with fine art than it will be much easier to illustrate and bring those ideas to life on paper. People say that they dont “look for technical skill as much as creativity” but the truth is, the more technical skill you have the easier it is to express the creativity and ideas you have.

The Cooper Union school of art classes can be found somewhere on their website i think, good luck!
